Why You Should Blog About Anxiety

Maybe you have a lifestyle blog where you prefer to keep things light and fun, or your list is health-based where you prefer talking about holistic health or common health conditions, but prefer not to talk about mental health.

I understand this philosophy, but I guarantee people on your list or who read your blog suffer from anxiety and other mental health issues.

Here is the thing about anxiety – Not everyone likes to talk about it.

I think the stigma is gradually becoming less of an issue, but many people don’t even want to seek professional help or tell their doctor.

What do they do about it?

They look it up online! That is how I originally figured out I was suffering from anxiety and panic disorder, and I know many others like me do the same thing.

YOU can be the blog people turn to when they want to learn about the symptoms, when to get help, what they can do from home, and the best ways to cope with anxiety and panic attacks.

Just Look at the Statistics

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety is the most common mental health condition in the United States alone. I imagine there are similar statistics in other parts of the world.

At any given time, approximately 40 million people are suffering from anxiety.

I used to have this lifestyle blog that really didn’t have a lot of posts on it and I wasn’t consistent with at all. But I did have a series where I talked about my own experience with anxiety, and those were always the most read posts and the ones more people interacted with me about.

Why? Because not only did a lot of people who found my blog want to know more about anxiety, but they felt connected to me because we shared the same symptoms or experiences with it.

Even if you don’t personally struggle with anxiety, you might know someone who does, so you already have a fresh perspective on it – from someone who has seen how it can impact other people. Use that!

 

Why I Love Coloring Books for the Social Anxiety Niche

Here at Health & Wellness PLR, I like to cover as many different health-related topics as I can, and that includes mental health.

Which is why I chose to do a big prewritten content bundle about Social Anxiety. I know I have mentioned it before, but as someone with social anxiety (and 2 other anxiety disorders, and depression), I feel like I have a good handle on it. Like.. I’m not going to be making small talk with strangers any time soon, but I no longer feel like my heart might explode every time I walk outside.

In terms of what you can promote with this niche, there is TONS. Books, fidget toys (fidget spinners anyone?), sketchbooks. But my personal favorite is coloring. Here are 3 reasons I love coloring books for social anxiety (and why you should promote them):

  1. It is the Perfect Mindless Distraction from Panic

A lot of times, people with social anxiety don’t just get anxious feelings and panic attacks during the actual social situation, but before. You know you are about to go out to a busy restaurant or for some people, just go outside with people, and it is terrifying. This creates a lot of anxiety before you step outside your front door. Coloring books are awesome for relaxing you.

  1. Coloring Books Are Convenient

This is why I think you should promote them, and why I have tons of them at home. They’re easy to find, relatively inexpensive, usually small enough for most purses and handbags, even thin enough to fit in your laptop case. You don’t need much aside from some colored pencils (or crayons if you want to be super old school), and you’re good to go.

  1. They Give You Something to do in Social Situations

This is what I personally think is the best part about them, and what people without social anxiety don’t realize. When you are caught in a social situation you don’t want to be in, like on the train or a packed airplane, you don’t want to make small talk. You don’t want to constantly pretend like you’re checking your phone even though you’re not. You just want to hide in your safe little bubble and ignore everyone. COLORING IS PERFECT FOR THIS.

The adult coloring book phenomenon is the best thing to ever happen for people with anxiety. I’m not above using the Frozen coloring book I “borrowed” from my neighbor’s kid, but I also like to pretend I at least have my sh*t somewhat together. If you have a coloring book that says ADULT on it, that counts right?

PLR Tips: How is a PLR Report Different from an eBook?

Many PLR providers, like myself, offer both ‘reports’ and ‘ebooks’ in our content. But what is the difference?

When I think of what a report is – I like to think about it in terms of 2 things: length and format. In both cases, the details of length and formatting make it different from an article or an eBook.

Length – A report is going to be longer than your average article or blog post, and shorter than an eBook.

How long is a report? For me personally, I like to make my reports at least 1,750-2,000 words. Most of them are around the 2,000-word mark, but I do have some shorter or longer. I use Arial 12 font for my reports, so without images, a 2,000-word report ends up being about 5 pages. It is not uncommon to have one twice as long, so 4,000 words would be approximately 10 pages long.

This is considerably longer than a typical article, which can be anywhere from 400 to 1,000 words. An eBook varies in length by both the word count and number of pages, but my eBooks are about 10,000 words and 20+ pages long.

An easier way to think about it? A report is like an extra long article or a super short eBook. 

Formatting – Another difference I make with reports is in its formatting. This is also a little different than both articles and eBooks.

With articles, I like to format it very simply – I have an introduction, 3-5 sections with subheadings, and a conclusion. Easy peasy.

When I write an eBook, the formatting is much more complex. You have the Table of Contents, Disclaimer, Intro, Chapters, Sections, Sub-Sections, etc. Plus, eBooks usually include more images, which I very rarely put into reports.

My reports are somewhere in the middle – they are formatted slightly more than an article, but I don’t include a lot of the ‘extra’ stuff like a table of contents and disclaimer. I want you to know exactly what you are getting, so I try to make them strictly content.

What Do You Do with Them?

This is also going to be subjective, but here are a few things you can do with PLR reports:

  1. Use Them as Free Opt-ins– This is probably the easiest way to use a PLR report. They make perfect opt-ins, allowing you to get more people on your list. That’s what we all want, right?! Just edit the report and the cover for your own needs, create a simple opt-in on your site, and give it away for free to people who subscribe.

If you buy a PLR bundle that also comes with articles along with the report, like my latest Grain-Free Bundle, you can then use those articles as an email series for people who choose to opt-in with the report.

  1. Sell Them on Your Blog– You will need to look at the rights for the PLR report you purchase, but many providers will allow you to sell the report to people for personal use. This means if you edit the report and cover, you can sell it on your blog to your list, but you can’t sell PLR or resell rights to it.

Example: If you bought my Self-Care PLR Bundle (here), you received a 5-page report about ‘Starting a Self-Care Morning Routine’. If you have a blog where your readers are interested in self-care and self-improvement, you can edit this report and put it up on your blog to sell to your readers. They will be able to purchase it and find out how they can start their own morning routine for self-care purposes.

If you are ever confused about rights, just ask!

  1. Break Them Up Into Articles– Another option is to take the content from a report or break up the sections into individual articles. You can then use them as blog posts or emails for your list.

Did that makes any sense?! A lot of times, you just need someone to put it into a certain perspective and then it clicks. I know that’s how it worked when I first started writing PLR. It took me a while before I started writing/offering reports, because I just didn’t get it. But now I do, and you guys seem to love them 🙂

 

What Are PLR Product Reviews?

I know you know what a product review is – but when you are buying prewritten content like PLR, it can be a little confusing as to what they actually look like.

My idea of a product review in this sense is that they are an overview of the product. It is often up to you to add the personal touches to the review, but this is a good thing – the PLR provider gives you a high-quality document that explains what the product is and what it does, so it is easy to customize with your own personal touch and make it ready for your blog.

One thing to keep in mind is that every PLR provider is different. I have seen a few different formats that people use when writing their product reviews. Some people will have all text about the product with no subheadings at all, giving you a lot of room for customizing it. Others (like me), prefer to use subheadings.

In case you’re wondering, this is how I usually format mine:

Personally, I make them about the length of a short blog post – so 400-500 words on average. Others have these detailed and LONG reviews.

Benefits of Using Them for Internet Marketing

Why should you use PLR product reviews? Simple – you can sell more products! You might mention a product here and there in your blog posts or emails, but with just a simple affiliate link, you aren’t really explaining what it is.

With product reviews, you are able to really focus on the details of each individual product. It provides an easy way to promote products, especially the higher-end products that you want to sell, and sell right. They are also good when you want to mix up the types of blog posts you have with detailed product reviews.

3 Ways to Use Product Reviews

Here are the 3 ways I would personally use product reviews:

  1. Add a Blog Post (or series) About an Individual Product

This is pretty simple, and probably the easiest way to use a product review. Each standard review works great as its own blog post. You can do this in a few different ways, whether you simply find a trending topic and use a review for it, or you have a blog series where you are talking about different products for one topic.

For example, in my Winter Beauty PLR Bundle, the theme is ‘Winter Beauty’. I talk about natural products for skin and hair during the winter. I wrote an additional 15 product reviews about the products mentioned in the content for this premium PLR bundle.

So, you can have a blog series with all of these reviews, which all cover the topic of Winter Beauty.

  1. Introduce the Product in an Email, then Link to the Blog Post Review

I love this idea because when you want to promote products from Amazon, you’re not allowed to use the affiliate link in your email. If you want people to click your links, start with your email. You can have an email that talks about a specific topic, then link to a blog post in your email that goes to that product review.

If you want to use one of her reports as a lead magnet for your list, you can then have one of your follow-up emails set up with links to the product reviews on your blog.

  1. Create Mini Versions on Social Media, then Link to the Blog Post Review

Lastly, you can do something similar to the previous tip, but instead have a shortened version of the product review, or just a blurb of it, on a social media site. Create a graphic that includes a quote or blurb from the review and post it to Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook. Then have it link to your blog post review. Easy!

Using Keto PLR for Your Health Niche

One of the tricky things about specific diet PLR is that you assume it only applies if you have a very specific type of niche. You know it obviously works if you have a keto blog, or even one that talks a lot about low-carb or Paleo in general. It is good for weight loss-related content, but that doesn’t mean YOUR niche won’t like it.

Here are some things to know about Keto and how you can use it for other purposes than just weight loss:

Keto helps reduce inflammation – One of the benefits of the ketogenic diet is that it can help reduce inflammation, perfect if you post content about diabetes and chronic conditions.

It is amazing for fighting sugar cravings – Just about everyone lately has been talking about the dangers of too much sugar, and Keto is extremely low in sugar, so it’s perfect for those nasty sugar cravings. This is also an amazing benefit of talking about Keto if you frequently discuss diabetes.

There are TONS of appliances to promote – Do you like to talk about healthy cooking because of the appliances? Keto encourages a lot of cooking at home, particularly with appliances like pressure cookers, slow cookers, grills, blenders, food processors, and similar appliances.

Journaling has a place with Keto – I personally love to use journals for writing about my Keto experience, recording food and exercise, and complaining about missing donuts 😛 If you like journaling content and promoting journals, there is definitely a way to cross-promote with diet-related content.

COFFEE! – If you have been grabbing the coffee PLR that has been coming out lately, you can easily use Keto content to add to it, since Keto coffee and Bulletproof coffee are frequently consumed on this diet.

I could seriously go on and on, but you get the point. When you see this type of micro-niche PLR, what I recommend, is looking first at the “health benefits” of the topic. This is usually a good place to find out if those benefits apply to what you like to promote the most.

How to Write About Sensitive Topics on Your Blog

I feel comfortable writing about emotional eating and anxiety and depression and eating disorders because not only have I been around a lot of people with them and done my research, but I have experienced them myself.

This might not be the case for you, so if you want to talk about sensitive topics on your blog and don’t have personal experience to share (or are a little weary about discussing it), these are my tips.

  1. Always Include a Disclaimer

This goes for everyone, whether you are discussing your own experience with eating disorders or mental health, or you are using PLR on your blog. Some content you add to your blog might be worded in a way that makes it sound like you are giving advice. Be careful! Make sure your readers know you are not a medical or mental health professional.

  1. Be Careful About Using the Word ‘Treatment’

This is something I learned just recently, so I have since adjusted how my titles and content is written. I advise you think before you tell your readers about natural options for treatment. With this type of angle, I would personally use ‘manage’ or ‘cope’, instead of insinuating they can fully treat or cure an eating disorder without medical intervention.

  1. Stay Neutral About Natural VS Medical Options

There are a lot of things people can do on their own to help cope with an eating disorder or mental health issue, but that doesn’t mean it will help everyone, or that they should only rely on that.

This is where this topic gets tricky. I know many of you are like me where you tend to lean more toward natural and holistic options.

Personally, I do a lot of journaling and self-care at home, but I also have a therapist. I don’t medicate and do talk therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy instead, but this isn’t for everyone.

This is why I would stay neutral. Of course, you can do whatever you feel comfortable with, but if you are a little weary about the topic, I would mention ALL options. With eating disorders, I highly, highly recommend encouraging them to also get help from a professional for treatment (see what I mean about treatment?).

Eating disorders are potentially life-threatening – so it’s okay if you don’t agree with my approach – but that is the only way I would personally feel comfortable talking about it.

  1. Do Research on Proper Wording

This one is more about being sensitive and not wanting to offend someone. It is really hard researching your own eating disorder or mental health issue when so many blogs or sites will use wording that makes you instantly feel worse.

I think the best place to go to figure out how to word this type of content is blogs or social media of people who have these issues. Not just someone offering advice – but those actually suffering from it. Look through their posts and see how they personally like to talk about it. You can learn a lot just by spending a little extra time learning about the sufferers themselves.

Quick Tip: Look up things like “what not to say to someone with an eating disorder” and similar phrases in Google. You should get some good ideas of what not to say with those results as well.

  1. Know the PLR Providers Beforehand

The reason I feel comfortable promoting Susie & Geoff after they wrote about eating disorders is because they write (most, if not all) their own content, and they do their research. I would absolutely trust them to take their time making sure the content is not half-assed, and approaching this type of topic with kindness.

Other PLR providers have attempted this type of topic, and I refused to promote because I didn’t like how they talked about eating disorders or mental health. So my last tip is to really know who you are buying prewritten content from when it comes to highly sensitive topics.

My 3 Tips for Changing [PLR] Article Titles

When you buy prewritten content, such as what I offer here at Health & Wellness PLR, it is recommended that you do some editing or customization of the content so that it is unique for your blog or list.

One of the main things I recommend is changing the article titles – at the very least. Here are my personal tips for changing the titles.

Please Note – I am using my limited PLR pack Coffee for Health as an example for the following tips.

  1. Convert a ‘Benefit’ Into a ‘Why’

This is a super easy way to change a title very slightly when you’re in a hurry. The good news is, this works both ways! If the original title talks about the ‘benefits’ of something, just re-word so that it talks about ‘why’ they need it. Here is an example:

In this pack I have an article titled ‘Health Benefits of Coffee’. You can easily just re-word it to‘# Reasons to Drink More Coffee’.

You can do it the other way around too. With the ‘Why You Should Drink Mushroom Coffee’, try ‘Health Benefits of Mushroom Coffee’.

  1. Add More Details to a Short Title

Sometimes I will keep an article title super short and basic because I know you will be rewriting it anyway. All you need to do is keep the short title, then add a few more details after it.

Here are a couple examples from this pack:

Coffee VS Tea – Coffee VS Tea: Should You Make the Switch from Coffee to Tea?
Facts About Caffeine – # Facts About Caffeine and Why it Matters

  1. Ask a Question

Another option is to rephrase the title as a question when it is written as a statement. When you turn it into a question, it suddenly becomes easy to change the original wording. For example:

I have an article called ‘Dairy-Free Options for Your Coffee’. If it were phrased as a question, it might look like:

‘How Can You Make Your Favorite Coffee Drink Without Dairy?’

or ‘Allergic to Dairy? Try These Coffee Drink Alternatives’You can of course switch up the titles to work for you, such as mentioning plant-based or vegan diets that might not want to use dairy.

Bonus Tip: Keep your readers guessing. If this is your style, you can definitely phrase the title as a question, where they can only find the answer if they click on your blog post. This might be a bit “clickbaity”, but they always get me 😛

How to Promote and Earn Commissions with Anti-Aging Content

As I was finishing up the Healthy Aging report, I noticed that each section in the report had its own micro-niche that you could easily use for your promotions. So, I wanted to show you some different ways you can use this report (or content like it) to get more commissions and more traffic to your blog.

Talk About Infused Water

This is a big one since not only does everyone need to drink more water, but many people struggle with it. It is hard to find any type of anti-aging content that doesn’t mention the importance of drinking more water. This is the perfect opportunity to promote infused water bottles you find on Amazon, and add a few blog posts or emails talking about how to make it.

I even have a free ‘Ways to Drink More Water’ report in the store.

Educate Your List on Environmental Concerns

The Healthy Aging report I just added to the store talks about environmental concerns that might lead to aging prematurely, and the importance of looking for more natural options.

This is not only in skin care and diet, but with things like housecleaning supplies as well. If you think your list is burnt out on talking about skin care products to help with their anti-aging concerns, why not promote natural ingredients or natural products for the home?

Think about products like:

Premade all-natural products
Spray bottles (for making their own)
Baking soda
Essential oils

Look up recipes of DIY home cleaning products, check the ingredients, and see if you fit those affiliate links into your posts.

Promote Sleeping Products

Another big tip for people who come to your blog looking for healthy aging or anti-aging tips is to get better sleep. This is when you can promote things to help with their sleep, such as supplements, pillows, weighted blankets, and essential oil diffusers for their bedrooms. There are TONS of products that work great for promoting better sleep.

There are my 3 tips. I wanted to give you some ideas aside from the typical “watch what you eat” and “use these natural skincare products” This is a great start, but there is so much more to it.

 

4 Ways to Find Your Next Blog Post Topics

Today at Health & Wellness PLR, we are talking about blog topics – and how to find inspiration for future blog posts.

There are of course the typical methods:

Look at seasons or holidays coming up and plan on posts for those holidays.

Re-visit old topics and put a fresh spin on them.

Read through the most recent news articles about your niche and cover those in your blog posts.

Purchase PLR packs to give you starter posts that you can customize. << BIG fan of this one 😉

There are also a few more ways I love to choose new topics, that I thought might be helpful for you. Some of these you probably already do, but others might be a bit unconventional.

  1. Choose random keywords and search them on Pinterest

I love Pinterest, not just for personal reasons, but because it is an awesome way to find out what is trending. There are a few different ways to search Pinterest for topics, from just looking through the latest pins of people you follow, to checking the “Explore” tab.

My favorite way? Just searching for completely random (or not so random) keywords. You might be surprised what you find. It can be something broad like “nutrition” or specific like “herbal remedies”. Don’t just stick to what you find on the first page – take some time looking through the pins, going through to page 3, 4 or 10, and see what you find.

In many cases, you discover unique topics you never would have thought of.

  1. Find ‘trendy’ health blogs or websites and view their latest articles

Let’s be honest.. there are a lot of crazy health trends out there. I don’t talk about everything I come across, but I often find interesting angles or micro-niches that I know you guys would be interested in.

If your health niche is more on the medical side, I recommend going to sites like WebMD or Mayo Clinic, and just looking through some of their topics. WebMD often puts their latest articles right on the front page, so you know what people are currently reading about. *I would do your research outside of these sites – they are just good for ideas.

For other health topics, I recommend finding health blogs of people who tend to talk about the trendy stuff – things that are brand new in the health community. I am not a big fan of Dr. Oz (and I know he is super controversial), but he does tend to have a lot of the more trendy/popular health topics. I suggest doing your own research elsewhere, but there is nothing wrong with taking a peek every once in a while for some ideas.

  1. Browse image sites for inspiration

This is one of my favorite *secret* ways to find inspiration. Usually, you don’t look for images until after you have chosen your topic and angle, but why not reverse it? Sometimes, I will just browse through Pixabay or other imaging sites, and think of health topics for certain images I like.

You can just browse through their latest images, most popular images, or enter a keyword. Even something like “green” comes up with interesting stuff. Maybe you find an image of someone gardening, which reminds you that you haven’t talked about growing herbs yet.

  1. Think about health issues your family and friends suffer from

There is no reason you can’t use personal experiences to come up with health topics. Pay attention to what your friends post on social media. Is there something you see multiple people bringing up? Maybe more than one friend is talking about a new diet, or you keep seeing a hashtag on Twitter for the same fitness app. These are signs of new health trends you might want to cover.

How to Find Royalty-Free Images for Your Blog

Today, I want to talk about finding royalty-free images from free imaging sites. I personally love Pixabay, so I will be using that as an example.

For my latest Bullet Journaling PLR package, I have graphics and eCovers in there for you, but I did not include royalty-free images. So, I wanted to show you how you can look for them and find the right ones.

These are just some little tricks I personally like to use when just typing in the common keywords isn’t helping me find anything good. I also have some tips specifically for journaling content!

Tip #1: Think Outside the Box When it Comes to Keywords

I think we all know to begin an image search, you type the most literal keyword you can think of. For journal-related content, you probably start with “journal”. Definitely don’t hesitate to do this! However, you will run into a wall at some point in the search results and need to think of some other keywords that are related to journaling in order to bring up those other images.

To find other keywords, start with the ones that are closest to what you are searching for. In the example of journal, this might include:

Diary

Notebook

Notepad

To continue the search, maybe try an action for the keyword you are looking for. Such as:

Writing

Drawing

You would be surprised how many more results you get just by switching the keywords around a little bit. Just like when you are researchcing your content, you start with the most obvious keyword, then you start thinking of those related to that keyword, and go from there.

Tip #2: Browse Through the User’s Photos

Another way I like to find images on Pixabay (and other imaging sites) is to look for one good image, then click on the User of whoever uploaded it. Often times, they will have other images in a series with that same topic, subject, or style. When you want multiple images of the same type of style, this is one of the easiest ways to find them.

It might take a few tries, but eventually you will have a list of users that have the images you need. This is how I ended up finding good graphics for my sales page that all seemed to go together.

Tip #3: Save Your Favorites for Later

I am always running into images I love, but that aren’t a good fit for what I am currently working on. Don’t scroll past them! I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to go back and find an image, and it took hours of searching before I remembered what keyword I originally used.

Save your favorites! Pixabay allows you to do this easily by just clicking the heart – without ever having to click on the image. I’m sure other free imaging sites have a similar function.

This saves time, and gets you a good collection of images to use for various projects.

PLR Tips: 3 Ways to Use This Grain-Free Diet Prewritten Content

Yesterday, I released my weekly bundle on Grain-Free Diets. One of the great things about this topic is that not only will it work when you want to talk about the benefits of cutting out grains from your diet, but there are some other ways to use the content.

I have come up with 3 options for you:

  1. Combine the Articles with Gluten-Free, Paleo, or Low-Carb Content

While grain-free is not the same thing as being gluten-free or Paleo, there are some definite similarities. You can pick and choose some of the articles about grain-free and mix them in with your Paleo or gluten-free content.

If you have a blog that talks a lot about Paleo or Keto (and other low-carb) diets, your readers already don’t eat grains because they aren’t allowed. By delving deeper into the grain-free trend, you are giving them even more benefits of remaining on one of those types of dieting lifestyles.

  1. Get Subscribers with the Report, Then Keep Them Engaged with the Emails and Blog Posts

This is one of the reasons why I love doing bundles with a report and articles – there are so many options! My favorite combination is to use the report as your opt-in to get subscribers by giving it away for free when people sign up, then using the articles as both emails and blog posts.

Split up the articles so that about half of them are email topics, where you give them some info in your autoresponders, then direct them to read more about the topic on your blog. Once they get to your blog, you can then start promoting products related to the content.

  1. Create an eBook About Going Grain-Free

Since you are getting 15 articles along with a 5-page report, you have enough to put them together into an eBook. It will just take a little tweaking to get all the content in the right order. I would start with the report content if you intend to use it, because that is a good overview of grain-free diets. Then start adding in some articles until you reach the desired number of words or pages.

This can either be a larger, more in-depth opt-in or content upgrade, or you can sell it right on your blog.
